GON Cohorts
What is a GON Cohort?
A GON cohort is a trusted circle of church mission leaders pushing past surface-level talk—asking better questions, challenging stale models, and reshaping how their churches engage globally.
It’s not a training. It’s a space for real conversations, shared learning, and leaders getting better—together.
Who It’s For…
GON cohorts are for leaders serious about doing global missions better. Whether you lead a large team or carry the weight alone, this is a space to reflect, realign, and move forward with purpose.
Cohorts are built for those ready to grow, challenge assumptions, and bring clarity to their church’s global strategy.
Why It Matters…
Leading global missions often means navigating complexity with little support. It’s easy to feel isolated, unsure if your efforts are actually making a difference.
GON cohorts give you a circle of trusted peers who understand the pressure, share the same questions, and are committed to doing missions in a healthier, more effective way..
How It Works…
GON cohorts meet virtually once a month for one hour. Groups are small—usually six to nine leaders—and thoughtfully curated based on church size, structure, roles, and global engagement experience.
Each session includes a mix of peer-led Spotlights, practical tools, and space to reflect and wrestle together—so you can apply what matters most in real time.
What You’ll Gain…
GON cohorts give you more than ideas. They provide clarity. You’ll leave each session with fresh perspective, practical next steps, and a clearer path forward for your church’s global engagement.
You’ll gain confidence, trusted peers to call on, and a renewed sense of direction rooted in what actually works.
Part of Something Bigger…
Every GON cohort is more than a one-off group. It’s part of a growing network of church leaders who are serious about doing missions with clarity, conviction, and excellence.
As the Global Outreach Network expands, so does the opportunity to connect across cohorts, share learning, and shape a healthier, more effective future for global missions. Your voice, your experience, and your leadership matter here.
FAQs
How much does it cost to join a GON cohort?
The cost is $750 per person, billed annually. This includes all cohort sessions, access to curated resources, tools, and content, personalized support from the GON team, and meeting summaries — so you stay connected even if you miss a session.
How are cohorts formed?
Each GON cohort is carefully curated. We group leaders based on shared characteristics—like church size, structure, and stage of global engagement—so every conversation is relevant, peer-driven, and grounded in real context.
Groups typically include six to nine leaders who bring diverse experience but face similar realities. That common ground builds trust, sparks challenge, and leads to insight you can actually use.
How much time does it take?
Each cohort meets once a month for one hour, virtually. That’s it—no prep, no homework, no extra assignments. Just one focused hour with trusted peers who understand what you’re carrying.
It’s a low time commitment with a high return: clarity, insight, and support you can bring straight back to your church and put to use.
What makes this different from a training or a conference?
This isn’t a download of content. It’s a space for honest dialogue and real-time leadership growth. GON cohorts are peer-based, not platform-based. You’re not just listening to presenters. You’re engaging with other leaders who are wrestling with the same challenges you are.
It’s not about best practices in theory. It’s about sharpening your thinking, challenging old models, and building something that actually works for your church and your global partners.
What if someone can’t make a meeting?
Life happens. If you have to miss, just let your group know in advance. The meeting will be recorded and recapped so you can stay in the loop. With that said, people are counting on you to be there regularly. This only works when everyone shows up consistently, honestly, and ready to engage.
What does a typical cohort meeting look like?
Each monthly session lasts one hour and follows a simple, consistent rhythm. Some months feature a Spotlight—where one leader brings a real-time challenge, question, or opportunity to the group for reflection, insight, and practical feedback. Other months are Practice Sessions—where the cohort walks through a GON tool or framework together, applying it directly to their church’s context.
We open each meeting with a brief check-in and close with shared takeaways. Sessions are recorded and summarized so you can stay connected, even if you miss a meeting.
Is this just for big churches or full-time staff?
Not at all. GON cohorts are for leaders from churches of all sizes—whether you’re the primary mission lead or part of the team supporting the work.
What matters most isn’t your title or role—it’s your desire to lead global outreach with clarity and conviction. We curate cohorts accordingly, forming groups specifically for senior leaders and others for staff and team-level practitioners doing the work in the trenches.
Can more than one person from our church participate?
Yes. While each cohort seat is designed for individual engagement, multiple leaders from the same church can join—especially if they bring different perspectives or roles.
For example, a global outreach director might join one cohort focused on vision and strategy, while a staff member handling logistics, communications, or systems participates in another group more aligned with day-to-day execution. Both leaders gain—and so does your church.
How do I know if this is the right fit for me?
If you’re leading global missions and often feel like no one else really understands what you do, you’re not alone. Many leaders tell us they’d never met anyone else in a similar role until they found the Global Outreach Network.
GON cohorts are built for leaders who want more than ideas—they want clarity, connection, and a place to both learn from others and speak into the challenges they’re facing. If you're ready to grow, contribute, and build something healthier for your church and your partners, this is for you.
